Questions

How do I throw?

Touch and hold the lower part of the court to build power, slide sideways to aim, and lift your finger to throw. The ring in the corner shows where the bat's axis points: in the orange sectors it will arrive flat, in the lilac ones end-on. The aim sways a little while you charge; let go when it settles.

Why did my throw not count?

A bat that lands short of the penalty line, one metre in front of the town, is spent and the pins go back, as in the real game. In the Letter, the centre pin (the stamp) counts only if neither it nor the bat touches another pin.

Why am I suddenly throwing from closer?

Once a pin of the figure is out, you step up from the long line (13 m) to the half line (6.5 m). The Letter is the exception: it is thrown from the long line throughout.

Do I need an account or a connection?

No. There is no account, and every mode works offline. The only network request is a quick version check at launch; if it fails, the app opens anyway.

How are stars and par worked out?

Each figure has a par, the number of bats an experienced player needs in this game. At or under par earns three stars, up to two over earns two, any clear earns one.

How do I turn the daily reminder on or off?

Settings → Notifications → Daily figure reminder, where you can also pick the time. If notifications were refused earlier, allow them in iOS Settings → Birchbat → Notifications.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Your woodpile → Reset progress erases stars, results, Partia history and ghost throws. Deleting the app removes everything. For anything else, write to us and we will delete it.

Troubleshooting

Notifications don't arrive

Check iOS Settings → Birchbat → Notifications and any Focus mode. Then open Birchbat → Settings and switch the reminder off and on again to reschedule it.

My progress is gone after reinstalling

Progress lives only on your iPhone and is not stored on a server, so deleting the app removes it. Restoring the whole iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup brings it back.

The app stays on the first screen

The launch check gives up by itself after a few seconds. If it seems stuck, close the app from the app switcher and open it again; if it keeps happening, tell us your iPhone model and iOS version.

Data deletion request
